MECHANICAL DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER | STARTUP

The partner:

We are looking for a Mechanical Development Engineer to join our client -an innovative Start-Up in the chemical-engineering sector -on a permanent contract. Our client specializes in renewable energy and, in particular, in the research, development, and prototyping of new green batteries and long-duration energy storage systems. 

The role:

• Support stack mechanical development (frames, endplates, compression hardware, flow frames, seals/gaskets, interfaces)
• Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and BOMs; support revision control and documentation.
• Perform basic mechanical calculations and support FEM/FEA activities (stress/deflection, bolt loads, sealing compression).
• Support prototype builds: assembly procedures, fixtures, instrumentation integration, and build documentation.
• Collect and document failure evidence from tests; propose and implement design improvements.
• Coordinate with lab/test teams to ensure designs are testable and serviceable.
• Draft procedures, reports and technical documentation in general.

Mandatory skills:

• At least 1 year of experience as a Mechanical Engineer (internships included).
• Basic proficiency in using CAD and creating technical drawings.
• Familiarity with mechanical design principles (materials, tolerances, fastening, sealing concepts).
• Hands-on aptitude with prototypes and testing environments

Additional Info:

• Experience with low-pressure liquid systems (pumps, valves, fittings, piping), FEM/FEA tools, mechanical testing, and any experience with energy storage systems, electrochemical systems, or industrial equipment will be considered a preferential requirement.
