We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for an important deep-tech start-up in Milan that develops and markets an innovative redox flow battery for energy storage, using abundant, low-cost materials.
The role:
- Leading the mechanical architecture of the stack: compression strategy, gasket design, structural components and hydraulic interfaces
- CAD management, technical drawings, tolerance strategy and bill of materials management for the stack and related assemblies
- Performing FEM/FEA by correlating models with test results, as well as conducting root cause analysis with a view to improving design
- Lead DFM/DFA by specifying and qualifying components (plastics/wet metals, seals, fittings, fasteners), ensuring compatibility and lifecycle reliability
- Collaborate with R&D, hydraulics and automation to align operational constraints with hardware limitations
- Support supplier development, production process definition and quality control
